PM Hosts Commonwealth Games 2026 Medallists After India's 39-Medal Glasgow Haul

The Prime Minister hosted India's medal winners from the Commonwealth Games 2026 at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg and interacted with the athletes.

India finished fourth on the medal table at the Glasgow Games with 39 medals — 13 gold, 17 silver and 9 bronze.

Boxing led India's campaign with a record 10 medals, including seven golds — the most won by any nation in the sport at a single Commonwealth Games.

The Indian Navy-US Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Exercise 2026 is scheduled at Southern Naval Command, Kochi, from 10 to 14 August 2026.

38 Ministries Earmark Funds Under DAPSC; Karnataka Gets ₹1,178 Crore in SC Scholarships
•
Under the NITI Aayog Guidelines of 2017 for the Development Action Plan for Scheduled Castes, 38 Ministries and Departments earmark funds across schemes for Scheduled Caste welfare.
•
DAPSC was earlier known as the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan, and the earmarked allocations are reflected in Statement 10A of the Expenditure Profile of the Union Budget.
•
Actual expenditure remained below Revised Estimates in every year from 2020-21 to 2025-26, with utilisation ranging between 81.61% and 93.83%.

India Crosses 300 GW Non-Fossil Power Capacity, Over 60% of Its 2030 Target

India crossed 300 GW of non-fossil fuel based installed electricity generation capacity as on 31 July 2026 — over 60% of the 500 GW targeted by 2030.
•
The breakdown is solar 164.59 GW, wind 58.14 GW, hydro 57.24 GW, bio-power 11.75 GW and nuclear 8.78 GW, totalling 300.50 GW.
•
Non-fossil sources now account for over 54% of India's total electricity generation capacity of around 552 GW.

Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan inaugurated the 'Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan' in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands by hoisting the National Flag at Flag Point, Sri Vijaya Puram.

NBA Disburses ₹3.79 Crore in Access and Benefit Sharing to 33 States and UTs

The National Biodiversity Authority disbursed close to ₹3.79 crore as Access and Benefit Sharing to 33 State Biodiversity Boards and Union Territory Biodiversity Councils, ICAR-NBPGR and, through the Haryana State Biodiversity Board, to the Hisar Bovine Sperm Station and Research Centre.

The amount was realised from companies including Bayer Science and Innovation, HM Clause India and Advanta Enterprises for accessing vegetable and oilseed genetic resources.
•
A further ABS amount arose from Sri Lanka's Department of Animal Production and Health for access to Sahiwal cattle semen.

CPGRAMS Cuts Grievance Disposal Time from 157 Days in 2014 to 14 Days in 2026
•
CPGRAMS is the Government's flagship 24x7 digital grievance redressal platform, connecting all Central Ministries, Departments, States and Union Territories through a single portal.
•
Grievances handled annually rose nearly nine-fold from about 3.01 lakh in 2014 to around 27 lakh in 2024, while Grievance Redressal Officers grew from 10,232 to more than 1.11 lakh by 2025.
•
Average disposal time in Central Ministries and Departments fell from 157 days in 2014 to 15 days in 2025, and stood at 14 days in 2026.
