The Government allocated a record ₹95,692 crore for rural employment under the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) [VB-G RAM G] Act, 2025 for FY 2026-27.
This is the highest-ever Budget Estimate allocation for any rural employment programme in India's history.
The Act, which replaced MGNREGS, guarantees 125 days of wage employment per year, up from 100 days under the earlier scheme.
Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan shared the information in a written Lok Sabha reply.
