The presence of HDFC Bank and Bajaj Finserv among early customers reflects this. The second is resource use. Datacentres are conventionally heavy consumers of water for cooling, which creates direct competition with local supply in water-stressed regions. The Hyderabad facility's use of air-cooled chillers requiring zero water for cooling addresses that concern, and links to a corporate water-positive target for 2030. As AI workloads expand datacentre capacity worldwide, the water and power footprint of that expansion has become a live public policy question.
