The 27 sites comprise 21 land areas and villages, 4 mountain passes, 1 high-altitude lake and 1 war memorial.
The passes named are Thag La, Dzo La, Riza La and Pukur La; the lake is Sambho Sarovar and the memorial is the Sher-e-Thapa Memorial.
The Ministry of External Affairs reaffirmed India's sovereignty over Arunachal Pradesh on the same day.
