The description was published on 7 August 2026 in the plant-taxonomy journal Phytotaxa, volume 769, by Sugaseelan Akash, Kathavarayan Manikandan, Selvam Srikanth and Authinarayanan Rajesh.

The species is an erect, unbranched herb about 15 cm tall that anchors itself in loose sand with a shallow web of fibrous roots instead of a deep taproot.
