Flying roughly 100 aircraft from 13 air forces in shared airspace forces participants to work through the practical problems of coalition air operations — common procedures, deconfliction, secure communication and joint mission planning. For the Indian Air Force, deploying Rafale fighters supported by C-17 transports over that distance is itself an exercise in strategic airlift and sustainment far from home bases, which is a distinct capability from combat performance.
