Ten of the 14 teams for the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2027 have secured qualification.
The tournament will be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
South Africa and Zimbabwe qualified automatically as Full Member hosts; Namibia did not, being an Associate member.
Afghanistan was the most recent team to qualify through the ODI rankings route.
The remaining four places will be decided at a Qualifier running from February 22 to March 23, 2027.
The ICC divides its membership into Full Members — the twelve nations with permanent Test status and automatic standing in major events — and Associate Members, who must qualify. Automatic host qualification applies only to Full Members. South Africa and Zimbabwe hold Full Member status and so are guaranteed places; Namibia is an Associate Member, so co-hosting confers no automatic entry. It creates the unusual prospect of a country staging matches in a tournament it has not qualified for.
Simple Analogy: Hosting the party does not automatically put your name on the guest list if you are not a member of the club.
