Seventeen-year-old Apoorv Kamble won the FIDE-rated rapid chess tournament held at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium, Bengaluru, scoring 8.5 points from nine rounds.
Sammed Jaykumar Shete finished second and Vaidyanathan Kannan third in the nine-round Swiss event, played at a time control of 10 minutes plus a 5-second increment.
More than 700 players took part across age and rating groups for a total prize purse of Rs 4 lakh.
The event was staged under Road2GCL, the grassroots feeder programme of the Global Chess League, whose fourth season runs in Bengaluru from 5 to 13 September 2026.
