The 43rd Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Commanders' Conference is being held at Coast Guard Headquarters, New Delhi, from 17 to 19 September 2026.
Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth addressed the senior commanders on the opening day. He stressed AI, autonomous systems, cyber and space-based technologies.
The agenda covers emerging maritime security challenges, operational readiness, resource deployment, capability building, force modernisation and indigenisation.
The conference is the ICG's annual apex forum, chaired by the ICG leadership under Director General Paramesh Sivamani, the 26th DG.
Armed force of the Union for maritime law enforcement, search and rescue, anti-smuggling, protection of offshore assets and marine environment protection. It is the central coordinating agency for marine oil-spill response.

Made the ICG an armed force of the Union (Act of August 1978). The ICG had been raised on an interim basis on 1 February 1977, which is why 1 February is Coast Guard Day.
