Tata Electronics signed 16 Memoranda of Understanding at SEMICON India 2026 on 17 September 2026, covering equipment, materials, infrastructure, packaging, design and skilling.
The partnerships feed its two greenfield sites - a front-end wafer fabrication unit at Dholera in Gujarat and an assembly, testing and advanced packaging unit at Jagiroad in Assam.
Nexperia of Europe was named for MOSFET wafer fabrication at Dholera and assembly and testing of discrete devices at Jagiroad.
Sumitomo Chemical will supply high-purity chemicals for Dholera, Kelington of Malaysia will build critical fab infrastructure, and Enomoto of Japan will work on advanced packaging and lead-frame localisation at Jagiroad.

Dholera sits in Ahmedabad district on the Gulf of Khambhat in Gujarat and hosts the front-end wafer fab, where silicon wafers are patterned. Jagiroad is in Morigaon district of Assam, in the Brahmaputra valley east of Guwahati, and does the back-end work - cutting wafers into chips, assembling, testing and packaging them. SEMICON India 2026 itself was held at Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, New Delhi.
