PM Narendra Modi opened SEMICON India 2026, the fifth edition, at Yashobhoomi (IICC), New Delhi, on 17 September 2026. The event runs until 19 September.
Theme: 'Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem'. It is organised by the India Semiconductor Mission (MeitY) with the global industry body SEMI.
The PM said 12 semiconductor projects have been approved and 3 are already in commercial production.
Semicon 2.0, the next phase, has an outlay of ₹1,27,500 crore across six pillars. Phase one was the ₹76,000-crore Semicon India Programme.
The event has more than 600 exhibitors and delegates from over 40 countries.
