On 17 September 2026 the ICC Board appointed Zimbabwe Cricket chairman Tavengwa Mukuhlani as ICC Deputy Chair, to serve until November 2027.
He succeeds Imran Khwaja of Singapore, who left the ICC Board, and is the first Zimbabwean to hold the post.
The appointment comes a year before the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027, which Zimbabwe co-hosts with South Africa and Namibia. It is the first World Cup in Africa in 24 years.
Mukuhlani sits on the ICC Finance and Commercial Affairs and Nominations Committees and chairs the HR and Remuneration Committee.
