The fifth edition of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign runs from August 9 to August 17, 2026.

The campaign was launched in 2022 under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, marking 75 years of independence.
The Ministry of Culture is the nodal ministry coordinating the campaign.
It forms part of the celebrations of India's 80th Independence Day on August 15, 2026.
The Flag Code of India consolidates the rules on display of the National Flag. Historically the Code restricted when and how ordinary citizens could fly the flag, which sat awkwardly with a campaign asking every household to hoist one. Amendments in recent years relaxed several of these restrictions, including permitting display at night when the flag is on an open-air pole and is well displayed, and allowing machine-made and polyester flags in addition to hand-spun khadi. Understanding this link explains why a mass-participation campaign required a rule change to be workable.
Simple Analogy: You cannot ask every household to fly the flag while keeping rules written on the assumption that only officials would.
