SatSure Analytics won the Rs 15 lakh first prize for a village-level climate vulnerability index.
EXPERIQS took second place (Rs 10 lakh) and VARSAPRADAYA third (Rs 5 lakh).
Winners were chosen from more than 150 applications through a multi-stage screening process.
A climate vulnerability index ranks locations by exposure to weather risks such as drought, flood and heat stress. For a development finance institution this is not an academic exercise: the same index that tells a farmer which crop to plant tells a lender how risky a loan to that village is. NABARD's chairman linked the initiative to digital public infrastructure for resilient farming and to assessing weather-related rural credit risk — which is precisely why an agricultural bank, rather than an environment ministry, ran the challenge.
Simple Analogy: A weather-risk credit score for a village, useful to the farmer and the lender alike.
