Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched scholarship and fellowship disbursal for agriculture students through the National Scholarship Portal.
More than 6,000 students received Rs 21.35 crore directly through Direct Benefit Transfer at the launch.
Scholarships will now be credited monthly into student bank accounts instead of through the earlier delayed process.
The event was held at ICAR-IARI, Pusa, New Delhi.
The stated aim is faster, transparent and hassle-free disbursal so that students are not disrupted by payment delays.

The minister linked the scheme to practical farm and research training, framing it as preparing students for careers as farmers, scientists and agri-entrepreneurs.
