The Technology Development Board signed an agreement on August 10, 2026 with Visakhapatnam-based Griva Healthcare to commercialise GrivaVision.
GrivaVision is an indigenous AI-powered portable digital colposcope for cervical cancer screening.
It is classified as a Class B non-invasive medical device and holds a CDSCO manufacturing licence.
Manufacturing will move from AIC-AMTZ Medivalley, Visakhapatnam to a commercial plant in Kollam, Kerala.
More than 50% of the device's components are sourced indigenously.
Colposcopy is a clinical procedure that examines the cervix, vagina and vulva under magnification to spot abnormal tissue. GrivaVision digitises this by combining proprietary Indian-patented hardware, advanced optics and a high-definition camera with AI-assisted software that flags pre-cancerous changes in cervical lesions during routine check-ups. Because cervical cancer develops slowly through detectable pre-cancerous stages, screening is unusually effective at preventing deaths — making a portable, lower-cost device valuable in settings without specialist facilities.
Simple Analogy: A magnifying camera with a trained second pair of eyes built in, flagging what a clinician should look at more closely.
