Oceanographer Dr Srinivasa Kumar Tummala assumed charge as Secretary of the Ministry of Earth Sciences on August 10, 2026.
He succeeds Dr N. Kalaiselvi, who held the post in an additional charge capacity; the previous full-time incumbent was Dr M. Ravichandran.
