Vietnamese aerospace company VinSpace signed a contract with SpaceX on August 11, 2026 to launch its first satellites in 2027.
The launch will be part of a SpaceX Transporter rideshare mission carrying multiple payloads on one rocket.
VinSpace was established in November 2025 with initial capital of about US$11.4 million.
It is a unit of Vingroup, Vietnam's largest private conglomerate.
Vietnam's national space strategy aims to make the country a mid-level space power by 2030.
A rideshare mission places many small satellites from different customers on a single rocket, splitting the launch cost among them. SpaceX's Transporter missions are the best-known example. For a newly established company launching its first small satellite, buying a slot on a rideshare is far cheaper than commissioning a dedicated launch — which is why rideshare has become the standard entry route for emerging space companies and nations.
Simple Analogy: Sharing a truck with other shippers rather than hiring the whole vehicle for one parcel.
