The Illinois State Senate declared August 15 as National India Hub Day through a proclamation presented on 15 August 2026 at the National India Hub in Schaumburg, Illinois.
The proclamation was presented by Illinois State Senator Ram Villivalam along with six other state legislators.
The event coincided with India's 80th Independence Day and was held during INDIA FEST 2026.
The National India Hub is a 107,000-square-foot facility described as the world's largest Indian community centre.
Founded by Harish Kolasani during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hub now brings together more than 150 independent organisations that share space, volunteers and resources.
