Dubai-based Lakshmanan Meyyappan was recognised by Guinness World Records in February 2026 as the world's youngest male chartered accountant, at 16 years and 141 days.
His qualification is the ACCA, awarded by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, which he began at 15 and completed in about a year.
He has since earned the CFA charter and is pursuing an MSc in Finance.
He works as a senior research analyst at Century Financial in Dubai.
His interest in accounting began during the COVID-19 lockdown after his Class 10 board examinations, guided by his mother, herself an ACCA member.
