The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027 has begun with the launch of the Viksit Bharat Quiz on the MY Bharat portal, running from 17 August to 30 September 2026 and open to Indians aged 15-29.
The flagship Viksit Bharat Challenge follows a five-stage pathway - Quiz, Essay Challenge, District Championship, State/UT VBYLD and National VBYLD - with the top 10% of quiz participants, capped at four lakh, qualifying for a 500-word essay round.
The national round will be held in New Delhi from 10 to 12 January 2027 across six tracks, with regional finalists presenting their ideas before the Prime Minister.

National VBYLD, New Delhi
An autonomous body of the Government of India set up as a technology-driven platform for youth development and youth-led development, serving as the single registry and engagement portal for young Indians.
Key: Launched by the Prime Minister on 31 October 2023, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel; its establishment as an autonomous body was approved by the Union Cabinet. It hosts the Viksit Bharat Quiz and the Essay Challenge.
A restructured form of the National Youth Festival, designed to bring young people into the policy conversation rather than only into cultural performance.
Key: The first edition was held in New Delhi from 10 to 12 January 2025 with about 3,000 selected youth; the second edition ran from 9 to 12 January 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, with the Prime Minister attending the concluding session on 12 January. The 2027 edition adds a Youth Entrepreneurs Challenge track.

Key: Nehru Yuva Kendras were first established in 1972; NYKS was set up in 1987-88 as an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to oversee them. It is among the world's largest grassroots youth organisations, working through Youth Clubs and Mahila Mandals.

Key: Observed on 12 January, the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda; declared by the Government of India in 1984 and celebrated annually since 1985. The National VBYLD is deliberately scheduled to conclude on this date.
