Home Minister chairs third NIDM Governing Body meeting; SDRF allocation up fourfold

•Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah chaired the third meeting of the Governing Body of the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) in New Delhi.
•The meeting was told that the State Disaster Response Fund allocation has risen nearly fourfold and the National Disaster Response Fund nearly threefold, with about Rs 2.5 lakh crore spent on the sector over the last 11 years and Rs 2 lakh crore provided by the 16th Finance Commission for the period.
